Overdue and over budget, but the first castings of the GOX/AOOX/ROOX 75' open wagon are now coming into production! It's been worth the wait and extra expense to produce a very nice master pattern for these wagons. A new feature is the inclusion of a specially designed coupler locating 'pocket' that also helps to transfer draft forces to the wagon end wall panel rather than relying just on the glue to the floor like in our AQOX container flat wagon. This will allow modellers wanting to run these wagons empty to avoid the unsightly coupler screw visible in the open wagon. The small bogie exchange X panel will be moulded in place but due to the many variations with or without signboards these will be left to the builder to add and customise to their requirements. The unpainted example below has sign boards added to suit the early CR period. These kits will be a very simple model to assemble but detailed instructions will be included to cover detailing into a CR,ANR or AN period wagon. Painted and decaled examples will be on display closer to release date. EXPECTED SEPTEMBER 2009!

The Queen's Birthday Long Weekend saw SAR N Scale Detailers at AMRE 2009 together with the Mallee River layout to show off our products! A great weekend and enjoyed talking with customers and all N scale enthusiasts about new products and the current range of products available to the Australian N scale scene. Thankyou to Bronte, Ian & Tony for helping run the layout and my family for helping with the store.

The modified doorless versions such as the RKWY will be released later in 2009.

CB Railcar: Our latest kit features a brand new silver undecorated KATO RDC-1 and a Commonwealth Railways or Australian National decal set. CR decals available now and the AN decal set will be available March. Decals are also available separately.

Bryan Howieson (SA) has converted a US Budd RDC into a Commonwealth Railways CB Railcar using our latest decal set. The Australian National version will be available soon.

The June long weekend was the annual Adelaide Model Railway Show and SAR N Scale Detailers attended with the 'Mallee River' N scale layout to display all of our kits. The new SCT G class locomotive kits were also released. Below is the trade stand with my oldest son, Tom, at his 'station'! Keen N scaler, Bronte, in the background ran the layout 99% of the weekend with his newly completed PBW Bluebirds and a pair of N scale Australia NR's featuring and running well on a PacNat train. An SCT train with the full list of SAR N Scale Detailers kits was also running along with an older SAR mixed freight with our kits and a pair of PBW 830 locomotives.

OFTEN SEEN ON CONTAINERS TRAINS CROSSING ALL PARTS OF THE COUNTRY WITH ALL SORTS OF LOADS PLACED ON THEM. SUPPLIED UNDECORATED THEY ARE A 'GENERIC' STYLE AND LOOK GREAT PAINTED RED OXIDE OR DARK BLUE. THE 40' TYPE FEATURE A DEEPER SIDE RAIL JUST LIKE THE PROTOTYPE ON WHICH THEY ARE BASED.
